Facebook New Profile, and what it means.
If you use Facebook and haven’t heard about the upcoming new profile design, then this may come as a shock to you but the site is about to have a big face lift. Some user have come to love the new profile and others to hate it, many appropriate Facebook groups have been formed and it looks like the battle lines have been drawn. If your not sure what I’m going on about and you use Facebook goto (http://www.new.facebook.com/) and try it out for yourself but be warned if you switch over there is no going back.
This new profile change affects everyone using Facebook, including not only the users, but also application developers and Facebook themselves, without considering the views of all involved it is hard to understand the reasons behind the switch. The change will affect each party in different ways, some for the better some for the worse. (more…)

Welcome
Firstly a big welcome to everyone, as this is my first post, this is presumably your first visit also.
As everyone who knows me through my social media work will tell you this site has been long overdue, and will no doubt end up partly as a release platform for any new work I’m involved in but also as a platform for me to express my views and hold discussions on the latest changes in the world of social networking and platform development. So lets see where the winds takes us on this one, but the plan is to release a post on Monday each week. If anyone has any thoughts on the layout/blog design please get in touch, both positive and negative comments are welcome.
Anyways on with the show….
This week I am opening up a new Facebook Application (FaceScore) for people to Beta test. The application was designed between myself and Experian to help promote the idea that every user has a credit score and that all your financial actions accumulate towards this score. In order to do this in a fun and exciting manor we have introduced a similar idea to Facebook, giving each user a FaceScore, which is related to your level of activity on Facebook, in much the same way as your financial activity impacts your credit score.
FaceScore is available here and I would love to hear your comments on the application. Please bear in mind that although this is a fairly polished beta is is still a beta and if you do find any bugs please send them over so we can iron them out.
